Nexus Resort Karambunai welcomes two new additions to its culinary brigade with the appointments of Mario Drewes and Muhamad Supi Mansor.

Mario Drewes, who is the new Chef Garde Manger, hails from Germany and comes to Nexus most recently from the Hotel Continental London, Park Lane. Chef Drewes, 31 years, started his culinary career in Germany at the age of 16 where he worked for 9 years before moving on to Switzerland and England. As Chef Garde Manger, he will be responsible for maintaining the high standards of cold food quality, training and cost control in the day to day operations of the Garde Manger and Artist departments of Nexus Resort. This will be his first posting in Asia and the highly motivated Chef Drewes is looking forward to contributing to the continued goal of making the Nexus Resort Culinary Programme the best in the region.

Chef Muhamad Supi has over 13 years of culinary experience, most recently from the Westin Kuala Lumpur, and has held many postings abroad such as Dubai, Singapore and Brunei in luxury hotel chains such as Shangri-La, Pelangi Beach Resort and several Ritz Carlton hotels where his main focus was fine dining. He will be responsible for the day to day culinary operations of the Sunset Bar & Grill and draw on his experience in menu engineering, food promotions, coaching and training of culinary associates to enhance the level of food preparation and service at the resort.
