Day of fun for Thalassaemia patients at Lagoon Park

For the 15 Thalassaemia patients from Sandakan, it was a day of discovery and fun at Nexus Resort Karambunai’s Lagoon Park.

This is the first time the Sandakan Thalassaemia Society has organized their annual field trip outside of Sandakan for Thalassaemia patients at the Duchess of Kent Hospital. Together with 10 society members, the group spent 3 days visiting interesting places in and around Kota Kinabalu before ending the trip with a few hours at the Lagoon Park where they did batik painting, kayaking and horse riding. They were also given a tour of Nexus Resort and hosted lunch before returning overland back to Sandakan.

Most of the patients who are in their early teens were very enthusiastic to take part in the activities at Lagoon Park
