Nexus Resort has officially changed its name to Nexus Resort & Spa Karambunai.

Berhad, Mr Peter Sprenger, Group General Manager, Brendan Wong, Director of Sales and Marketing, Dr Arun Pillai, Director of Spa and staff members.

With the introduction of one of the oldest systems of traditional healing, Ayurveda as part of its health and wellness programme, Borneo Spa aims to create its niche as a health and wellness resort destination in Sabah.

“A newly refurbished spa, exclusive Ayurveda treatments and wellness packages to cater to the individual needs of our guests will be the hallmark of Borneo Spa’s signature experience,” says Peter Sprenger.

Invited guests consisting of members of the press and representatives of various medical organizations were treated to a sampling of the Borneo Spa treatments such as a head, hand and foot massage as they sipped on the spa’s signature ginger tea before the announcement was made. A demonstration on two Ayurveda treatments was performed by Dr Arun before guests were led to the Sunset Bar & Grill for lunch consisting of food from the resort’s healthy menu.

Ayurveda or “The Science of Life” has been a part of India’s enduring tradition and philosophy. This is a time tested 5000 year old science which highlights on ideal lifestyle in order to maintain radiant physical and mental health based on herbal preparations, diet, yoga, and purification.

Borneo Spa will offer 11 different Ayurvedic treatments under the professional supervision of its Director of Spa, Dr. Arun Pillai who is a certified Ayurvedic practitioner. The treatments will be performed at a very authentic level to cater to wellness seekers coming to Nexus from all over the world.

Borneo Spa recently participated in a skills training programme sponsored by the “European Union Asia Invest Programme” to train selected spa therapists in internationally acclaimed standards. With this certification, the Borneo Spa has become the first resort spa in Sabah to be EU standards compliant.

There is no change in the management of the resort as Nexus Resort & Spa Karambunai continues to provide its guests with the best hospitality service that they have come to expect.
