Nexus Resort Karambunai, Sabah, Malaysian Borneo

Nexus Resort Karambunai will be staging the first ever digital photography bootcamp in Kota Kinabalu on 12 July 2008 at the resort. The idea for the bootcamp was developed between Nexus Resort and photographer Louis Pang who has won local and international accolades for his work in digital photography. First conceived as a platform to give budding photographers a chance to enhance their knowledge of digital photography and post processing of these digital images, it evolved into an idea to make the event educational as well as fun and exciting. Hence the bootcamp idea was born.

The bootcamp will include a half-day workshop with practical session by Louis Pang before participants are given free reign to explore the expansive gardens and beachfront of the resort to put their photographic creativity and talent to work to capture their winning shot.

Participants will then digitally process their images and select the best 5 photos to be submitted for the photo competition at the end of the bootcamp which ends at 11pm. This will be a nail-biting event as each person races to produce a collection of inspiring and artistic images that will highlight his or her aspiration as a photographer.

The winner of the bootcamp photography competition will get a 3D/2N tour for 2 persons to Tabin Wildlife Reserve sponsored by Tabin Wildlife Resort, a 20-minute helicopter joyride sponsored by Sabahair Aviation, and a 2D/1N stay at Nexus Resort Karambunai with dinner for two at Olives Mediterranean Restaurant. The second and third place winners will stand a chance to win dining vouchers, a helicopter joyride and aromatherapy massage at the exclusive Borneo Spa. Epson Trading (M) Sdn Bhd will be providing use of their colour printers for participants to print out their digital photos for the photography competition.
